No child chooses war
We support children in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel, grounded in equal rights for everyone.

Our stance
Us and them, not us or them.
Layan takes no sides. We want to bring people together, and we stand for all children, Israeli and Palestinian, with universal human rights as our guide.
That is why the two flowers in our logo, the iris of Palestine and the anemone of Israel, are woven together.
What we do
Focus on children in conflict zones
Our focus on children who, through no fault of their own, are caught up in violence in conflict zones in the Middle East is, and will remain, essential.
Layan Foundation supports children and young people in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel. We give them the means to build more open, inclusive and resilient communities together.

Our project
We follow the need, and safeguard the balance
We support Theatre Day Productions in Gaza, where the need is greatest. At the same time, we are exploring cooperation with organisations that connect Israelis and Palestinians. The mission above always comes first.

Connection on the Israeli side
We are exploring cooperation with organisations that bring Israeli and Palestinian people together, such as movements for dialogue and a shared future.
The Layan 100% Promise
100% of your donation goes to the project you choose.
We never pay organisational and transaction costs from earmarked donations, but from our reserves, unrestricted donations or sponsorship.
How we work
Careful, transparent and with the mission first
Every project goes through the same steps. We assess it against fixed criteria, with a few strict knock-out conditions, a weighing of feasibility, and a risk assessment that determines how closely we look.
-
Intake
We map out the project, the people and the context.
-
Criteria and knock-outs
Does it fit our mission? Does it meet the strict conditions? If not, it stops here.
-
Due diligence
We look into the organisation and the flow of money, as thoroughly as the risk requires.
-
Decision
The board weighs it up and decides, with the mission as the touchstone.
-
Agreements
Clear agreements in both directions: what we expect, and what the partner can expect from us.
-
Payment and monitoring
Payment in stages, and we record what happens with the funds.
Our mission
Looking beyond today
Palestinian refugees
Since 1948, many Palestinians and their children have lived in refugee camps in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan. They are registered with the UN but often remain stateless, without full rights or prospects for the future. Support from private donors is therefore more important than ever.
On the Israeli side too
Israeli children grow up under the constant threat of rockets, with fear and experiences of loss. Their mental health is under heavy strain. Layan explicitly seeks cooperation with progressive organisations in Israel that recognise the basic principles of international law and strive for dialogue and reconciliation.
Get involved
Make a difference: get involved or give
With your time or your donation, you help children get medical care, psychosocial support and safe places to be a child.
